Nipple and areola correction
Nipple surgery involves correcting the shape of the nipple and perhaps also the areola, when its size appears too large or too long for the rest of the breast. An enlarged nipple can be reduced and the areola reshaped to look even and round, with a diameter of about 4 cm. Micropigmentation may refine an uneven appearance of a nipple.
Nipple augmentation is often a follow-up procedure after breast augmentation, breast lift, or breast reduction surgery. In that case it takes place under general anaesthesia. Otherwise local anaesthesia may be sufficient.
