As an organ in the middle of the face, the nose is often an eye-catcher – or a source of offence. Only those affected know how hurtful and devastating derogatory comments about an unusual nose can be – hardly any other part of the face can be as disturbing as the nose.

Nose correction, also known as rhinoplasty or rhinoseptoplasty, is a surgical procedure that corrects the shape and function of the nose as needed. The internal structure of the nose is corrected without leaving any visible scars on the outside. Depending on the circumstances, the procedure can range from a simple removal of the nasal hump to complex corrections of the internal structure.

Nose surgery requires a great deal of experience and technical skill, as even the smallest deviations can affect the aesthetic result. It is therefore essential to enquire about the training and experience of the plastic surgeon performing the procedure.

Examples of nose correction you find here!

We would be happy to advise you personally – as plastic surgery is a matter of trust.

Treatment process

Consultation

First, we ask you to explain exactly what you don't like about your nose and what you would like to have corrected. Perhaps you also have an ideal image of a nose that would suit your face.

We will then analyse your nose with a professional eye – as part of your face. This is because the shape and symmetry of your face can influence the appearance of your nose. We will then discuss your concerns in detail and explain the various options for correction, taking your wishes and ideas into account.

Of course, we will also explain the exact technical procedures and, of course, the possible risks and complications of nose surgery.

It takes a lot of experience to make a differentiated assessment and develop a sound treatment plan – aesthetic nose surgery in his complexity is the crown jewel of aesthetic surgery! For us, naturalness is the top priority!

What happens on the day of the operation?

The anaesthetist will have an informative discussion with you the day before the operation.

You should not have eaten anything for at least 6 hours before the nose correction. You are allowed to drink clear liquids (water, tea) up to 2 hours beforehand.

On the day of the operation, you will be welcomed by our team at CENTERCLINIC. If we are performing the procedure at Lindenhof Hospital, you will be given the relevant details. The surgeon will talk to you again to clarify any final questions you may have.

Rhinoplasty is usually performed under general anaesthesia. This is not only the most comfortable form of anaesthesia, but also the safest. In most cases, a nasal tamponade must be inserted and a plaster cast applied at the end of the operation.

You will then be looked after by our qualified nurse in the recovery room.

You can then leave the CLINIC the following morning. All necessary aids and medication will of course be provided.

Is nose surgery painful?

Usually not. However, patients sometimes describe it as uncomfortable, as a nasal tamponade usually has to be inserted and a nasal splint fitted. This means that the nose is blocked for 2 days – comparable to a blocked nose with a bad cold.

What happens after the procedure?

The nasal tamponades are removed after 2 days, and the plaster cast and stitches after 7 days. These procedures are usually not painful. Once the plaster cast is removed, you can already enjoy your new nose!

When will I be socially presentable again?

This depends very much on the surgical steps performed. Depending on the extent of the nose surgery, the bruises and swelling will disappear after 7-14 days. As mentioned, the plaster cast remains in place for a week.
